I receive an unexpected error when trying to reopen my application.

Technology is a wondrous tool; unfortunately, when it doesn't work properly, frustration follows. Should you receive an error message, please contact Paige Zick for assistance.

What happens should the grants and scholarships I have been awarded outpace what my college costs are?

It is important that you contact your university's or college's Financial Aid Department to determine whether your awards are in line with your college costs. Scholarship funds are paid directly to your school and are intended to be used for direct educational expenses, such as tuition, fees, textbooks, and required supplies purchased through the school. These funds cannot be applied toward outside living expenses. If there is no process in place at your school to deduct aid surplus, the scholarship would be withdrawn.

Is the NMIFS open to graduate students?

Unfortunately, not at this time; however, please continue to check back as we may broaden eligibility requirements to include graduate students.

Is this a merit-based or need-based scholarship?

The NAMIC Mutual Insurance Foundation Scholarship is a merit-based award.

How do I receive my scholarship funds?

The check will be mailed to the university's or college's bursar's office to be applied directly to your account.

Is the NMIFS open to students at community colleges?

Absolutely!

I cannot access the application portal. What should I do?

Can I save my application and come back later to complete it?

Will my lack of response to the demographic questions negatively impact the likelihood of receiving a scholarship?

No. The NAMIC Mutual Insurance Foundation is committed to diversity and inclusion. The questions asked are for reporting purposes only.

I am currently a high school senior. Am I eligible for a scholarship?
