About us

Our Background

The NAMIC Mutual Insurance Foundation was formally designated in March 2018 as a 501(c)(3) organization designed to help foster the continued growth of a strong and invigorated mutual property/casualty insurance industry.

The primary focus of the Foundation is to facilitate tax-advantaged donations to support the foundation's growing scholarship fund. In future years, the Foundation will have the opportunity to take on other projects and initiatives on behalf of the mutual property/casualty insurance industry, including public policy efforts, industry research, academic studies, grants, and public education. All activities will reflect NAMIC and its members’ continued commitment to the future of the mutual property/casualty insurance industry.

Diversity & Inclusion

The mutual property/casualty insurance industry is ripe for new perspectives, contemporary innovation, unique problem-solving skills, and solid decision-making acumen. Through building diverse workforces and inclusive cultures, workplace environments are created that not only bring a fresh approach to how we run our companies but also reflect our communities.

A diverse workforce is dependent on a pipeline of talent built upon the principle that a college education in the United States should be available to all students, no matter their race, national origin, sexuality, physical ability, or economic status; this is why the NAMIC Mutual Insurance Foundation and its scholarship program are dedicated to ensuring all qualified students have the opportunity to receive a financial award.

It is the mission of the NMIF and the scholarship program to advocate for all young people as they travel on the path to a career in mutual property/casualty insurance.
